Fontario is a font-management system for production-critical creative teams. It identifies the exact font a document expects, delivers it when needed, and makes every inexact match visible.
Why Fontario
Two font files can share the same familiar name while differing in version, metrics, glyph outlines, or shaping behavior. In packaging, prepress, and long-lived creative work, those differences can move line endings, change symbols, and interrupt output.
Fontario keeps the library central and matches documents against the evidence that matters. Exact matches can activate automatically. Anything less certain stays visible for a deliberate decision.
Protect line endings, spacing, and overset behavior.
Keep the expected letterforms and symbols in place.
Reduce searching, manual installs, and font conflicts.
How it works
Fontario sends lightweight catalogue data to the workstation first. The font binary only follows when an open document needs it.
Import authorized font files into a central, searchable library.
Record layered evidence for each face, including bytes, metrics, glyphs, and shaping.
Read the document requirement and distinguish exact, equivalent, fallback, and missing outcomes.
Verify, cache, and activate the required font for the document, then release it after use.
Built around certainty
Fontario compares the binary, functional package, metrics, glyphs, and shaping behavior—not only the family and style name.
Workstations receive catalogue metadata, then fetch and verify only an uncached font required by the open document.
Supported identifiers and document evidence can map historical work to the corresponding authorized font in a migrated library.
Designed for the handoff
A central library, fewer repeated font hunts, and clearer choices when a document does not match exactly.
Visible font-version differences before they become text reflow, missing symbols, or late production surprises.
A smaller workstation footprint with shared records for fonts, usage, and the licenses your team maintains.
